The monastery is dedicated to St. Mamas, the patron saint and martyr of the village. While the monastery is believed to have been founded in the 13th century, the existing building dates back to the 18th century.<\/p><p>Inside the monastery, there is a museum that houses a collection of well-preserved frescoes, icons, religious artifacts, and manuscripts.
